Sturgis Bank Opens Second Calhoun County Location

Sturgis Bank has opened a second location serving Calhoun County.  The Battle Creek Loan Center, at 131 E. Columbia Avenue, is helmed by several bankers with a history of serving customers in the area. 

“I am thrilled that we are expanding our footprint and opening a location in Battle Creek, ” said Jack Reed, Vice President, Business Development for Calhoun County.   “Our new office will help us better serve residents in Calhoun County who are interested in home ownership.”

Mortgage lenders Mike Mankerian and Michelle Kappen will be working out of the Battle Creek Loan Center. Mike Mankerian, Vice President, Mortgage Loan Originator, joined Sturgis Bank in August 2021. He has over 25 years’ experience in lending. Michelle Kappen, Assistant Vice President, Mortgage Loan Originator, recently joined Sturgis Bank and has 15 years’ experience in finance and lending. They provide mortgage origination services to first-time homebuyers and seasoned buyers and loans for construction, second and vacation homes, and investment properties.  Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Veterans’ Administration (VA), Rural Development (RD), conventional, and portfolio lending are available.
